In 2026, the twentieth year since the founding of A TRANS, and with gratitude for what has been created and experienced, the overarching theme is A SistaBro-City.

Sista + Bro transform their circle of friends into a family, a chosen kinship, so to speak. This cool clique is the arena for negotiating matters. It’s about mutual understanding and respect, relationships and soulmates, closeness and trust, about complicity, alliances, and above all, about friendship that develops and can last a lifetime.

The installation BigSisnBro by Potsdam artist Karola Rückholz reflects on whom we choose as our supporters and how much support we find within ourselves. A unicorn and Pegasus, gazing from the clouds, seem to descend from the heavens into the depths of the subway. They look at us, and we, the viewers, look back up. In the ideal image of older siblings, they stand behind us, no matter what we do or what happens to us.

Karola Rückholz presents the magical unicorn and Pegasus, the creator of the source of creativity, in a place of transition and movement. Emerging, ambivalent feelings between hopelessness and despair are reflected, in order to ultimately open up paths within and for ourselves for the unbridled desire for the new and thus for change.
